The Utah Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission is a golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. It is played at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah, USA.

The 2011 purse was $550,000, with $99,000 going to the winner.

Salt Lake City (July 22, 2011) – The field is set for the 2011 Utah Championship and this year’s tournament will feature nearly all the top players on the Nationwide Tour. The tournament tees off Thursday, July 28th and is Utah’s only official PGA TOUR event on the Nationwide Tour.

Tournament organizers today announced that the Nationwide Tour’s top players will be teeing it up at Willow Creek Country Club when the tournament gets underway. Those players will be competing for a spot on next year’s PGA TOUR; players who finish the season ranked in the Top 25 automatically earn their tour card for the following year.

The Nationwide Tour will be holding the Utah Championship this week, a tournament that is held at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah with a $550,000 purse and running from July 28th to the 31st. Michael Putnam is the defending champion, winning $99,000 last year and returning to defend his title this year. The next tournament on the Nationwide Calendar is the Cox Classic presented by Lexus of Omaha, held at Champion's Run, in Omaha Nebraska from August 4th through the 7th. Previously on the tour, Russel Knox won the Chiquita Classic.

The players on the tour this year include Brad Adamonis, Stephen Gangluff and Justin Peters as well as Ted Purdy, Dicky Pride and Steven Alker. Matt Baird is also playing in this tournament along with Andy Bare, Jeff Gove and Brett Quigley. Matt Hedrix, Michael Sims, Adam Bland, Brian Bateman and Brian Stuard are also scheduled to play in this Nationwide Tour event. This year the Utah Championship live will be presented by Zions Bank. Every year it takes place in Sandy, Utah at the Willow Creek Country Club. Over the past 17 years an American has won the event 16 times with only Canadian Glen Hnatiuk winning the event in 1995.
